Use a taxi when the door-to-door leg solves a concrete problem: bulky luggage, a difficult final walk, a missed connection or several people sharing the same destination. Compare that benefit with the applicable meter, night surcharge and any extra charges before treating a taxi as a fixed-price transfer.

The city’s public-transport page, checked September 7, 2026, lists a standard medium-sized taxi base of ₩4,800 for 2km, then ₩100 per additional 132m and a time component of ₩100 per 33 seconds. Deluxe/large vehicles have a different tariff.

Arithmetic example: a hypothetical ₩10,000 metered amount becomes ₩12,000 with a 20% surcharge or ₩13,000 with 30%, before any other applicable charges. This illustrates the percentage only; it is not a quote for an airport, beach or hotel route.
Check the pickup before confirming
- Stand at an identifiable and legal pickup point. At a station or airport, follow the designated taxi arrangement.
- Use the exact pickup side or entrance, not a pin on the opposite carriageway.
- Enter the hotel’s full Korean address and check the destination before requesting the vehicle.
- Verify the vehicle and driver details in the app or the marked taxi at the stand.
- Ask about the payment method if it is not clear, and keep a usable backup.
An app’s availability, foreign-number sign-in and payment methods can differ by product. We did not complete an app booking in this review, so this article does not promise that every visitor can register or pay with every foreign card.
A phone-based fallback
Busan identifies Deungdae Call at 051-600-1000 and describes interpretation support. Prepare the pickup location and destination first. The city’s promotional arrival estimate is not a guarantee that a car will be available during rain, rush hour or an event. City call-taxi information.
Compare three practical cases
- Busan Station to a nearby hotel: check the actual walk and luggage load. A short distance can still involve an awkward road crossing, but walking may be simpler than finding a pickup.
- Seomyeon to Haeundae: compare Line 2 plus the final walk with a current taxi estimate. Road traffic and your exact address matter.
- After a late event: choose a pickup area before entering the venue. A crowd at the nearest curb does not guarantee taxis can legally stop there.
Do not step into traffic or follow an unofficial ride offer simply because the app shows a long wait. Move to a suitable public pickup point and reassess the route. Keep the hotel address, battery reserve and another way to contact the accommodation.
At the destination
Check the meter or agreed service price, confirm payment and retain the receipt or app record. Before leaving, look at the seat and luggage compartment. If you need to report a problem, the time, pickup, destination and vehicle/receipt details are more useful than only the hotel name.
